Isobel Howick

Isobel Howick and her family ran an egg and poultry business started by her father. She has lived in the fairfield area for most of her life and is an active volunteer at the Fairfield City Museum.

Isobel Howick: ...well actually my two brothers there was no school at Fairfield West when they first started school they had to go to Canley Vale was the nearest school.

Shirley McLeod: And did they go by train, by bus or walk?

Isobel Howick: No, they didnít, no buses going that way, only to Fairfield but in those days there wasnít very many houses and there was a lot of open paddocks and they would walk across the paddocks over to Canley Vale to the school.
