June and George Petersen

June and George Petersen have a long history with the Fairfield area. They are life long members of the Fairfield City Museum and played a major part in its establishment.

George Petersen: Smithfield was the halfway house between Liverpool and Parramatta in the horse-drawn (days). And I believe they had 10… 10 hotels?

June Petersen: Oh I can't remember how many…

George Petersen: Hotels them days is motels today. They only had two real hotels to my knowledge. That was the Victoria and the other one down near the old police station. But when they went to Fairfield all that died.
