Jan Murray

Jan Murray moved to Fairfield in 1955. Here she speaks about her involvement in Girls Brigade and also the GFS (Girls Friendly Society).

We had a combined outing with the CEBS group and we went to Warragamba Lion Park for the day. We hired a bus. That was interesting. We had a camp, down at the CEBS campsite, which was very interesting because the girls had never been under canvas so that was quite an experience for them. We had a couple of Divisional things. We went to a large parade in Sydney. It was a combined parade between the four Christian uniformed organisations. So we took some of the girls into that. That was quite an experience. We filled St Andrew's Cathedral and the Town Hall. That was quite — yeah, that was sort of what we did then.
