June Smith

June Smith has lived in the Fairfiled area for most of her life. She worked with the US army during World War II. June and her husband adopted an Aboriginal girl after the mother agreed to the adoption.

.. it was mainly at the School of Arts you know used to go or sometimes we’d go to Merrylands. There used to be a old time dance there and then we used to go to Auburn Town Hall because you went there I think it was I don’t know how much we used to pay two shillings I think and it was non stop we decided we got our money's worth you know they had two bands.
