Gladys Swager

Gladys Swager is a resident of Fairfield. She went to school in Canley Vale and Parramatta and later taught in the Fairfield area following her studies.

Gladys Swager: ... we used to have a sports day at school and that would be a Saturday and that would be all day on a Saturday. The ball games teams used to excel in district sports. There was cricket for the boys. We used to play 'Circos.'

Shirley McLeod: I don't know that one.

Gladys Swager: Circos was with a rubber ring and and you would throw the ring and you had to catch on an edge of the rubber, circular, on a court that was smaller than a tennis court but set out in the same four sections. You played two a side or you could play one a side.
